James Afshar:

Practicing Yoga with James is always a treat. His calming voice, creative sequencing, and detail to alignment is wonderful. James’ classes are so approachable and welcoming to beginners and well seasoned yogis as he offers something for everyone.

James’s classes are a combination of focused connection and intention on breath awareness as students navigate through asanas. A culmination of concepts and inspiration from his teachers and his foundation in Ashtanga Vinyasa style Yoga. His mindfulness based approach to discovering the inner landscape of the body is what helped him recover and heal from years of martial arts and athletic sports, and what guides him to this day.  He firmly believes that when the breath is the initiator, poses become more alive and inner grace and awareness are achieved.

Level 1-2:

These classes build greater strength, flexibility, and stamina, while still providing thorough instruction and options. Students will be exposed to subtler concepts within the practice, stronger and more challenging flow sequences, and begin learning more advanced poses including basic arm balances, backbends and inversions.
