The practice of Hatha yoga, when specially designed for the pregnant body, prepares the mother-to-be for the birthing and postpartum experiences.

Prenatal yoga develops strength and stamina, and increased bodily awareness deepens the bond between a mother and her baby.

The regular practice of yoga while pregnant supports those desiring a natural birth. It has been shown to relieve many common discomforts durning pregnancy, and can reduce complications during the birthing process.

Birth, when aided by yoga, can become a relaxed, focused and positive experience.

Mama Baby Yoga: Standing as the equal opposite to Prenatal Yoga, Mama Baby Yoga will rejuvenate a new mother through breath awareness and mindful movement.  Yoga asana joined with baby tending develops a practice of yogic mothering.  Holly will help you lessen the ‘distractive’ quality of exercising with your baby by incorporating them into your practice.  These effective post-partum exercises will establish proper body alignment and a calm internal state while engaging the baby though touch, eye contact and voice.  This class revitalizes the new mother’s body without exhausting the baby’s patience.  Crying babies, feeding babies, sleeping babies, crawling babies and toddling babies are all welcome.  Please leave your stroller and baby seats behind in favor of soundless toys, a baby blanket, and finger snacks for older babies.  No men please.
